Geometric mosaic restoration is our specialty and passion.  Traditionally know as ‘Minton’ floors, geometric mosaic, and encaustic tile floors provide both a very valuable and highly practical original feature.  Preserving your mosaic tiled hallway creates a fabulous first impression as visitors walk through your door and we can achieve this for you.   Whether your floor is severely damaged with cracked, loose, or missing tiles or your geometric tiling needs to be extended we can cost-effectively restore your floor and achieve stunning results.  We pride ourselves on our wealth of experience to achieve outstanding results coupled with using the very best products and techniques.

We offer a complete tile floor repair service including:

  • removing loose and damaged tiles
  • removing and replacing the damaged substrate
  • supplying the best possible match for any replacement tiles including original and reproduction encaustic and geometric mosaic tiles
  • re-laying original and replacement tiles
  • re-grouting

The Process

Having lifted areas of damaged and loose tiling, it’s essential to ensure a solid base upon which to re-lay the tiles.  Failed substrate is removed and rebuilt.

We supply the replacement mosaic tiles cutting them to exact measurements to seamlessly blend into the original floor.  All replacement tiles are colour matched as close as possible.  These are sourced from either our original reclaimed stock, hand-made to order, or matched from our vast workshop of reproduction victorian tiles.  In some cases, we can lift spare tiles from a hidden area in your hall such as an under-stair cupboard.

All reclaimed tiles need to have all old grout and adhesive removed so that they can be re-laid as tightly and as level as they were originally.

Tiles are then painstakingly relaid and grouted.
